Founded in 2009, Project Maja is a social action programme bringing together leading politicians and activists from across the world to participate in community led voluntary projects: from building sports facilities in Turkey’s Gaziantep refugee camp, to refurbishing schools in Srebrenica.
This year, Project Maja is partnering, amongst others, with the Aga Khan Trust for Culture in Pakistan, who have led remarkable transformations in the Gilgit-Baltistan region. Project Maja will seek to build on their work, leveraging the rich cultural heritage of the region, in order to benefit those living in poverty: raising incomes, restoring pride, improving the quality of life and, perhaps most importantly, providing hope.
In August 2018, Project Maja will collaborate with a number of ongoing projects towards this including: the CIQAM initiative for women in social enterprise, and the Silk Road Tourism Initiative. These projects are of immense value to the local economy: attracting tourists and employing hundreds. We have a huge passion for Pakistan and its a real honour to take a lead on this initiative. We would be grateful if you would consider participating in this important work.
